Potter’s House

Pastor Melissa Scott

Being a lump of clay is not pretty, nothing beautiful resides in a lump of clay. Potential remains its single redeeming quality, realized only at the hands of the potter. Lumps of clay don’t realize they are lumps. They are oblivious to it. Pain is no Big Huge Thing to a lump of clay. Crushed it flattens, poked it dents, all without a word of complaint. Sound like anyone you know … me neither.

The potter metaphor is a favorite of God’s. It has never been popular with us.

Potter Principles and Adversity Principles link, molding, shaping, blessing … revealing to us who we are, who God is, and what we are becoming.

Now get back on that wheel and shut up … please.
